I am replacing the windows in my flat as I am thinking of renting it out. I have tall shash windows and will be replacing these with two UPVC double glazed windows. For fire regulation reasons I was told that I needed to ensure that the bottom window opened to act as a fire escape if require. Is this true? Will I not be able to rent it out if only the top window can open?
